WHAT: Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming), together with Misericordia University, will host a free Healthy Habits and Wellness Event for residents of the 117th Legislative District. The event is designed to offer information on how to make healthy lifestyle choices. Breakout sessions on a variety of topics will be offered, including social media, scams and fraud, Lyme disease and more. Several community groups will hold demonstrations and offer information regarding nutrition, safety, exercise, and available programs in the area. A drug drop box will be on site.

TUNKHANNOCK – Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) has released the breakout session and special presentation schedule for her Healthy Habits and Wellness Expo, set for Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Misericordia’s Insalaco Hall from 3-7 p.m. In addition to the sessions, over 25 vendors will be on site to educate residents about local programs and services. The theme of this year’s expo is Healthy Body + Healthy Mind = Healthy Life.

Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) has released the informational session schedule at her annual Senior Expo, to be held on Friday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tunkhannock Area High School cafeteria. In addition to the informational sessions, over 40 vendors will be on site to educate residents about local programs and services.

Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) will be offering a nonprofit, anti-fraud and theft prevention seminar on Tuesday, July 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wyoming County Emergency Management Building.

HARRISBURG – To help prevent injury and death of children trapped in hot cars, a bill introduced by Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) that would provide civil immunity for any damage that may be done to the vehicle when forceful entry is necessary to rescue a child was passed unanimously out of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) today announced her outreach events and satellite hours for July. Representatives from several different organizations will offer assistance at her district offices throughout the month. Please note: All offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, and satellite hours will not be offered on that date. This impacts satellite hours at the Mehoopany and Meshoppen locations. Hours in Mehoopany and Meshoppen will resume in August.

HARRISBURG – A bill introduced by Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) unanimously passed the House on Wednesday. The bill would authorize the state attorney general to enter into reciprocal agreements with other states allowing active duty military fishing and hunting licenses to be recognized as resident licenses in any state participating in such an agreement.
