PHEAA Warns of Financial Aid Scams Targeting Students, Says Boback

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) is warning students and borrowers to be wary of financial aid scams that could expose them to identity theft and significant financial loss, according to Rep. Karen Boback (R-Luzerne/Lackawanna/Wyoming).

Boback’s Impact Fee Bill Focus of Committee Meeting on Wednesday

WHAT: Legislation sponsored by Rep. Karen Boback (R-Luzerne/Lackawanna/Wyoming) that would amend how counties can use funds derived from the impact fee imposed on the Marcellus Shale industry will be the subject of an informational meeting conducted by the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. House Bill 781 would give county governments the flexibility to use impact fee funds for stormwater management as mandated by the federal Environmental Protection Agency.
