Moul, Boback, Grove to Inspect PPE Stored at PA Farm Show Complex

WHAT: House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee Chairman Dan Moul (R-Adams), House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee Chairwoman Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) and House State Government Committee Chairman Seth Grove (R-York) plan to tour the state Farm Show Complex as a follow-up to recent House hearings regarding preparations for state emergencies. The Wolf Administration invited the lawmakers to inspect the facility’s storage of personal protective equipment. House members will offer comments immediately following the tour.

House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee to Hold Voting Meeting

WHAT: Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will be holding a voting meeting on House Bill 491 and House Bill 803. House Bill 491, sponsored by Rep. Karen Boback, excludes veterans benefits/pension funds as income for state benefit programs that have an income qualification threshold. House Bill 803, sponsored by Rep. Tim O’Neal, establishes the Keystone State Challenge Academy for the Pennsylvania National Guard Youth Challenge program.

COVID-19 Grants Awarded to Local Fire and EMS Companies, Says Boback, Baker

HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania’s fire, rescue and EMS companies have been working hard throughout the pandemic to keep citizens of the Commonwealth safe. To assist with extra expenses resulting from the COVID-19 public health emergency, first responder companies in the 117th Legislative District received $455,915 in state grants provided by the Office of State Fire Commissioner.

Judiciary Committee Advances Boback Duty to Report Disappearance of a Child Bill

HARRISBURG – The House Judiciary Committee has passed legislation authored by state Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) that would require a report about a missing child be made within 24 hours after his or her whereabouts became unknown. The bill does offer protection for guardians who have a legitimate reason to believe the child is safe with someone else.

Boback Announces Grant for Harveys Lake Sewer System Improvement Project

HARRISBURG – Harveys Lake Borough today was awarded $297,326 in state grant funding to assist in the repair of its sewer system to benefit residents and the community, announced Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming). The funding was made available through the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program.
