Moul, Boback, Grove to Inspect PPE Stored at PA Farm Show Complex

WHAT: House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee Chairman Dan Moul (R-Adams), House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee Chairwoman Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) and House State Government Committee Chairman Seth Grove (R-York) plan to tour the state Farm Show Complex as a follow-up to recent House hearings regarding preparations for state emergencies. The Wolf Administration invited the lawmakers to inspect the facility’s storage of personal protective equipment. House members will offer comments immediately following the tour.

House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee to Hold Voting Meeting

WHAT: Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will be holding a voting meeting on House Bill 491 and House Bill 803. House Bill 491, sponsored by Rep. Karen Boback, excludes veterans benefits/pension funds as income for state benefit programs that have an income qualification threshold. House Bill 803, sponsored by Rep. Tim O’Neal, establishes the Keystone State Challenge Academy for the Pennsylvania National Guard Youth Challenge program.

Judiciary Committee Advances Boback Duty to Report Disappearance of a Child Bill

HARRISBURG – The House Judiciary Committee has passed legislation authored by state Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) that would require a report about a missing child be made within 24 hours after his or her whereabouts became unknown. The bill does offer protection for guardians who have a legitimate reason to believe the child is safe with someone else.

House Committee Advances Boback September 11th Remembrance Day Bill

HARRISBURG – The House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee has unanimously passed legislation authored by state Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) that would recognize Sept. 11 of each year as September 11th Remembrance Day.
