Boback, Kortz to Hold Civics Education Event
WHAT: Reps. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) and Bill Kortz (D-Allegheny), will host a news conference in support of House Bill 1858, which would require Pennsylvania high school students to demonstrate proficiency in civics as a graduation requirement.

WHO: Boback, Kortz, the Honorable Marjorie O. Rendell, chairwoman, Rendell Center for Civics and Civics Engagement; Kirsten Baesler, state superintendent, North Dakota Department of Public Instruction; Dr. Lucian Spataro, chairman, educational initiatives, Joe Foss Institute, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Lenwood Sloan, social studies instructor, and students, SciTech High School, Harrisburg.
